Canyon Springs High School

Background

International Baccalaureate classes start strong at Canyon Springs

Canyon Springs High School International Baccalaureate (IB) classes have finally made their debut after years of hard work toward implementation of this prestigious program. International Baccalaureate Diplomas are recognized around the world as they help students “develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world.”

There are approximately 900 high schools in the United States that offer IB diplomas. Canyon Springs High School offers IB courses in Language and Literature, Mathematics, Mathematical Studies, History of the Americas, Film, Chemistry, Theory of Knowledge, French, and Spanish.

Approximately 45 students are enrolled in the IB courses for the first semester of classes.

Christine Flores, Canyon Springs’ IB Program Coordinator, notes that students are really enjoying the new classes and the strong support from the teachers.
